Through the Fire

Many times I’ve questioned

Certain circumstances 

Of things I could not understand

Many times in trials

weakness blurs my vision 

And my frustrations get out of hand

It’s them I am reminded

I’ve never been forsaken

I’ve never had to stand one test alone

As I look at all the victory

The Spirit rises up of me

Is through the fire my weakness

Is made strong

He never promissed

That the cross will not get heavy

And the hill would be hard to climb

He never offered, victories 

Without fighting

But He said help

Would always come in time

Just remember when you’re standing

In the valley of decision

And adversary says give in

Just hold on

Our lord will show up

And he will take you through

The fire again

 

I know within myself

That I would surely perish

But if  I trust the mighty hand of God

He’ll shield the flames again, again

He never promissed…

In The Beginning

The Beginning

In the beginning we walked in our wrong ways. We were lost in our sins and couldn’t find our way home. We were bound to loss. 

But then Jesus came and rescued us from the bottom of a muddy well. He did what seemed impossible and changed our lives completely. He set us free from our sins and showed us a new direction, and made our lives new.

Now we can stand straight and walk without fear. God has proved to us that everything is possible to those who trust Him. 

Therefore, if you’re still standing in the valley of decision, that same valley God has called you from so many times, don’t turn Him away this time. Accept your call, the call he has only for you. Nobody else can answer the call God’s prepared just for you. Now is the time.

In the malls labyrinths, electronic eyes scrutinize every movement, layering an invisible net of surveillance. High definition cameras, strategically positioned,  capture images of corridors, stores and parking lots, sending them the monitoring center, afterwards. Attentive workers, facing shining screens, analyse people's flux, identifying suspicious behaviour and potential threats. Smart software, with facial recognition algorithms, helps to identify criminals and missing people. Biometric data such as height and clothing color, supplement the analysis, improving the search for specific individuals.

When the moon takes charge, hunger comes strong. The absence of sunlight decelerates metabolism, signalizing to the body that night has arrived. Stress, this modern thief, elevates cortisol levels, which urges us into compulsive eating, especially food rich in sugar and fat. The chaotic routine with irregular meals along the day, leads to night hormonal unbalance. Lack of sleep, paradoxically, increases the sensation of hunger, a vicious circle that feeds insomnia. Boredom, a silent accomplice, transforms the kitchen into a refuge, and we look for comfort in snacks. The night hunger, a physiological and psychological enigma, defies our resilience and the balance of the organism.

Starting a New Journey

STARTING A NEW JOURNEY

Living is not easy, nowadays. We are crossing times of harshness and scarcity. What we need is to start over, to try something new. But where to start from?

No matter how many abilities one should have, it may be hard to find a new path to follow. It is necessary to be creative and courageous. And, above all, It is necessary to have faith.

If you got stuck somewhere and can’t find a way to release yourself, maybe it’s time to break those ties with the past and start looking towards the future.

Believing yourself means you do things with an expectation for success. One cannot expect to have good results on some project, if they begin with lack of faith. Therefore, the first step is to trust God, and to trust yourself.

I know things look unclear now, but don’t give up. Just start moving the plow, and God will make a way so that things go right. Even when you are facing a wall, you can still find some way to get past it.

Begin your new journey today, one small step at a time. Build up your confidence by assembling all the small achievements that you make. You will see that, through time, they will become great accomplishments in your life

O amor verdadeiramente genuíno, a paixão, faz com que fiquemos totalmente dependentes daquele ser amado para que possamos seguir vivendo, seguir respirando. Se perdemos aquela pessoa, ou o vínculo com ela, é como se a morte fosse um melhor consolo.

O amor da paixão é um amor idealizado. Ele não enxerga defeitos ou imperfeições. O ser amado se torna a expressão da própria beleza, da doçura e da arte. Vemos nele o reflexo de tudo que um dia sonhamos. Mas este amor nos deixa reféns e, se fica abalado por algum motivo, nossa firmeza desmorona. 

A história está repleta de amantes que, com efeito, tiraram a própria vida na tentativa de aplacar a sua dor. Quem já se apaixonou ao menos uma vez na vida, sabe a intensidade deste sentimento, que nos toma de forma avassaladora, e que nos leva a tomar as decisões mais loucas que se possa imaginar. Quando estamos apaixonados, não poupamos esforços, tempo ou dinheiro. Vivemos em função de agradar nosso amor. 

Mas, então, vem a não correspondência, as brigas, a perda do afeto, os ciúmes, etc., e matam a relação. O furor passional se retrai, a chama diminui, e o que antes era fogo, primeiro se torna brasa, para depois se tornar cinzas.

No entanto, às vezes, a paixão se encaminha para algo mais brando, suave e duradouro: o amor. E o amor, neste caso, pode sim durar para sempre, e trazer o tão sonhado final feliz.
